Lorde Comes Crashing To Reality in Melodrama

Lorde is the one musician right now, activities relating to every young adult imaginable. With the anticipated release of Melodrama, fans of the singer-songwriter could only expect the rumors that started to circulate. Many were stunned when the first single off this album 'Green Light' was shared along with an accompanying music video. 'Green Light' chronicled an important time stamp in Lorde's life. It was the end of a relationship and exploring the new possibilities that could be obtained from that point. How moving on feels more in the field of an extraordinary relief rather than grief.

'Perfect Places' the second audio release became the party song of the Summer. Not for its classic anthem style quality, but for the treasured "living in the moment" essence. Lorde questions whether these "perfect places" even exist anymore. If they do, why do we care? Ultimately living in the moment has been Lorde's answer to an untimely breakup that fueled a passionate, dissociative recovery. Lorde can be heard singing about drinking, partying, and getting lost. 'Sober' another track is actually split up into two parts, with the second part titled 'Sober (Melodrama). Lorde actually has a few second additional tracks chronicling in a certain order. This allows 'Melodrama' to fully enlist as an album which needs to be listened to from start to finish.

Melodrama has already become an important album to me and most likely to others. Every person I've spoken with about 'Green Light' or 'Perfect Places' comments on how keenly aware this album was made. Lorde not only addresses the life of a young adult but just so happens to do so at a perfect ten. In one way or another, there is a song on Melodrama speaking directly to someone. It's safe to say that Lorde went through a hell of a lot and she's only now come back above the surface.
