Okay, okay… the title alone has most of us wondering, “What exactly is Ms. Gomez singing about?” With imaginations kept clean as possible, we search, listen, and in this case watch. Come to find out, despite the lyrics intentions, the music video is somewhat cute and playful.
“Hands to Myself” by Selena Gomez is catchy and for some weird reason gave me “last song syndrome”. And no, I wasn’t walking down the street singing it out loud. That would be downright awkward in every way. I must say though, it was a great song, along with “Me & My Girls”, during the presentation of last year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
Here’s the medley and video: Selena Gomez’s insinuating steamy song is actually fun, naughty, and playful with definite touches of sexuality. Pun, well---intended or not---I’m sure is understood. Here, we have Selena very much wanting a man who she fantasizes over. Her claim is so overwhelming, that she seeks to “win” him with no acceptance of losing. To add, when she wins the heart of this male, she has no plans of sharing or losing him. Even with the fact of not currently having him then no other woman can either. With the simple reasoning that he is already hers. Her wants and needs go so far as to breaking into the guy’s home, flaunting around in his clothing, and finally sensationing (I know, not exactly a word but fits the picture) herself in his bathtub. The outcome---a very cute and sensual ending.
It is clearly obvious that us men do not and are still trying to figure out women and their thinking. In best instances and advice, we are told just to agree and be loyal. I would like to humorously say, that most men might wish for the superpower to read women’s minds. But then again, that alone may not be enough for us men to really understand. Either our male-associated hormones keep us from doing that or we just may not have the brain capacity to match our dearly loved females. Either way, we love them anyway. Clearly, there has to be a logical reason for Ms. Gomez to pursue something illegal to gain the attention of this sought after male. Right? Well, without logic or reason, I’m sure many other males would not be offended by the action.
