"I'm so sad to hear the news of the passing of dear George Martin. I have so many wonderful memories of great esta Man That will be with me forever. I was a true gentleman and like a second father to me. He guided the career of The Beatles With skill and good humor Such That I became a true friend to me and my family. If anyone earned the title of the fifth Beatle George it was. From the day I gave The Beatles That our first recording contract, to the last time I saw him, I was the most generous, intelligent and musical person I've ever had the pleasure to know.
It's hard to choose favorite memories of my time with George, there are so many but One That comes to mind was the time I brought the song 'Yesterday' to a recording session and the guys in the band Suggested That I sang it alone and Accompany myself on guitar. After i had done esta George Martin Said to me, "Paul I have an thought of putting a string quartet on the record". I Said, "Oh no George, we are a rock and roll band and I do not think it's a good idea." With the gentle bedside manner of a great producer I've Said to me, "Let us try it and if it does not work we will not use it and we'll go With your solo version". I agreed to this and I Went round to His house the next day to work on the arrangement.
I took my chords That I Showed him the notes and spread out across the piano, putting the cello in the low octave and the first violin in a high octave and gave me my first lesson in how strings Were voiced for a quartet. When we the string quartet Recorded at Abbey Road, it was so thrilling to know His thought was so correct That I Went round telling people about it for weeks. His notion obviously worked Because the song subsequently one of the MOST Became Recorded versions With songs ever by Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye and Thousands more.
This is just one of the many memories I have of George WHO Went on to help me with arrangements on 'Eleanor Rigby', 'Live and Let Die' and many other songs of mine.
I am proud to Have Known Such a fine gentleman With Such a keen sense of humor, Who Had the Ability to poke fun at himself. Even When He was knighted by the Queen there was never the slightest trace of snobbery About Him.
My family and I, to Whom I was a dear friend, will miss him and send our love Greatly To His wife Judy and Their kids Giles and Lucy, and the grandkids.
The world has lost a truly great left an indelible Man Who mark on my soul and the history of British music.
God bless you George and all sail WHO in you!

It 's hard to pick a favorite memory with George, too many, but one that comes to mind is the time I brought the song Yesterday at recording sessions and the boys of the band suggested that sing solo accompanied by my guitar. After doing that, George Martin said , 'Paul got the idea to include a topic orchestra' and I said, 'Oh no George, we are a rock and roll band and not think it's a good idea'. With the great kindness of a great producer he told me: 'Let us try and if it does not not use it , just let your solo version'. I agreed to this and went to his house to work in accordance with the following day.
He took the chords to teach you and watered notes on the piano, putting the cello in a lower octave and the first violin an octave higher, and gave me my first lesson in how the orchestras were arranged for a quartet. When we recorded the orchestra at Abbey Road was so amazing to know that his idea was correct, I was running to tell everyone for weeks. His idea obviously worked because the song became one of the songs selling versions of Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye and thousands more.
This is one of many memories I have with George when helping with arrangements Eleanor Rigby, Live and Let Die and many other of my songs.
I am proud to have met such a fine gentleman with a great sense of humor, an ability to laugh at himself. Even when the Queen named him Knight of the British Order, he never had the slightest trace of pride.
My family and I, who was a great friend, we will miss incredibly and send our love to his wife Judy, and Lucy Giles children and grandchildren.
