Death today was one of the greatest musicians who had the pop culture world. These intellectual men are born only once and that unlike many, managed to change their reality and impose a new culture through glam rock. Under his artistic vision was born Ziggy Stardust (1972) and with that character, major issues such as Space Oddity and Starman. He felt vindicated and Soul music and came to form with Brian Eno's "Berlin Trilogy" (1977).
For wonderful things in life, though full of pain, today I woke up listening to his music without even knowing the news. I woke up watching the videos "Blackstar" and "Lazarus", the latter came out last January 7, as promotional of the twenty - eighth and latest album "Blackstar", a work that was light on January 8 and which coincided with his birthday 69. I wanted to listen to Bowie because I had read that it was a disc with a lot of jazz and that was very different from what the artist had been doing innovation.
I enjoyed your videos and it was splendid to see a David Bowie aged creating characters and representing them in a song of a beautiful melody, able to lower the revolutions of day and appease all a contemplation of an external silence that spans the sensitivities of the ear while at the same time he manages to open a gap and lets a harmonious cry that breaks the calm and introduced into the very soul of the listener.
It was me as a pending task, listening to the disc again to get home at night. When I went out humming his songs and when I get to the office, I find through a friend that the British musician had died. It was a shame. Total surprise. I felt very bad and I began to question why such a great guy, with that age and in a great creative capacity has to die at the hands of cancer. He does not deserve it.
I remember meeting her music at age 14. My older brother showed it to me and over time I did mine, I appropriates his melodies and left as a musical reference to sing me in my nights of dreams. I remember her rendition of "Under Pressure" by Queen, as one of the best and most powerful songs of the rock era.
He was always able to innovate their music and this last time wanted to experiment with jazz and was tremendous due to its quality. Today I am sure David Bowie left a great album and their songs and videos are the essence of the disease that suffered the past 18 months while waiting for the end of his life. Today I say with Morrissey "There Is A Light And It Never Goes Out". Thanks David Robert Jones.
