David Bowie - Low

Now I have never been a huge admirer of most of David Bowie's work, but this particular album alongside Diamond Dogs are still two memorable albums for me. Low in particular is to my liking with a pretty clear approach towards psychedelic rock in parts, with a certain well-known and renowned track Be My Wife especially always coming to mind every now and then. Obviously due to its addictively memorable solo and rhythm section. A truly brilliant song. Low is already worth a mention due to this track alone, but the rest of the album is pretty good too. Albiet more in an alternative and art rock sense perhaps.

What In The World for example is a pretty funky and catchy track with subtle psych rock flirtations and a distinctly awesome funk vibe, while The Speed Of Life encompasses the highly catchy and memorable pop rock aspect of David Bowie. The same can ssentially be said about Always Crashing In The Car. All in all this album has a pretty distinct trouble free and funky character to it as it comes to the first part of the album, and tends to mix different genres, which is a pretty good thing. Tracks like Warszawa, Art Decade and Subterraneans manage to be pretty different from the A side of the album, as they dwell more in the ambient. This makes for a great and very varied album, and undoubtedly one of David Bowie's best, if not the very best.

This is an album that I tend to go back to every now and then. May it be for the awesome and unforgettable psych rock feel of Be My Wife or the eerie and somewhat psychedelic ambience of the B Side tracks like Warszawa and Subterranean.
