Wolf Alice came out of the indie music underground as a firecracker throwing light all over the industry's same old, same old. Now after time has passed and Wolf Alice has become a more recognized name through radio stations and the web, the band's latest music video from 'Don't Delete The Kisses' adds another notch to the long list of accurate ways to write a song.
'Don't Delete The Kisses' video shows an intimate portrayal between a couple riding on a train together. It is through this singular use of transportation, as a portion of the audience watching, we view the loving couple slowly declining towards separation. By acting as a passenger on the train, which is suggested by the way the music video is filmed, the passion between the couple is evident. Whether it's young love or dumb struck love, public display of affection is administered throughout the music video.
Wolf Alice's best aspect is being able to show the disillusioned truth towards the end of each of their songs. A revealing signature the band has come to form, shows the band has grown to accept and conquer each time a song is released. Every track seems to be a chapter in the life of someone we know or our own lives. This ironic and admiring concept shows the band's succession of growth from the start.
Who knows why relationships end up the way they do, this sudden departure of loving another, heart break, cheating and the list seems to grow with every passing year. However, "Don't Delete The Kisses" offers a look towards the teenage rose colored glasses that even as adults we all wear. Ignoring red flags, or haplessly falling into the void of sensational everlasting love which slowly fools us into loving others. Or does it?
