At one point no one had heard of Wolf Alice and within a two-year span, everyone was sharing a song or two from the acclaimed English band. Moaning Lisa Smile, Bros and Blush became the big contenders when it came to being introduced to Wolf Alice's style. So of course, that means it would take a while to get around to the entirety of the album My Love Is Cool without hitting the repeat button.
The iconoclast track You're A Germ also has an accompanying music video shot in prime B Horror movie class. Picking a B Horror movie style to coincide with the track matched up quite well. This also added a fun dynamic and showed the band toying with the chaotic take off points in You're A Germ.
There is a chaotic chase within You're A Germ. The song adds a race of adrenaline if you're listening with intent and following along with the steady build up of drumming until a commencement of the chorus kicks in. It may be without realization how immersed you've become while listening to Wolf Alice, although this is the band's ultimate weapon. A "Class A" definitive form of rebellion.
You're A Germ sounds like a fun track, easily crafted and probably hashed out in a matter of hours. Unlike the more slight serious tone to the rest of the album My Love Is Cool, You're A Germ was the break between point A and B of the rest of the album.
The ending literally ends in a manic laugh and rush of instruments clashing together. You're A Germ could be reminiscent of a typical Ramones phrase, kind of like calling out someone with a schoolyard taught but ends up becoming a pretty decent punk track.
Nevertheless, Wolf Alice continue on a steady progression of chart-climbing success.
