Maggie Roger's Counts Down Our Dog Years

The ticket prize for originality goes to Maggie Rogers. From snapping her fingers in a quiet room or drumming out a pattern on the fabric of a pair of jeans...Maggie Rogers joins in with a force of nature and somehow makes pop/dance music a priority. Roger's track 'Dog Years' holds the candle to the shadow by showing exactly what nostalgic now means. As if living the authentic life wasn't enough, sometimes a singer-songwriter comes along adding a single tear to shed down your cheek.

Zia Anger was the artistic individual responsible for Maggie Roger's music video for 'Dog Years'. As cryptic as the video leads us on, Rogers shines as the singular component diamond that the songstress happens to be. Singing wildly, openly in nature and unrestricted as possible. As 'Dog Years' conveys within the lyrical content 'I count my time in dog years'. To dissect this it may mean that Roger's feels as if the life she is living moves fast paced, from one second to the next simply experiencing as much life as humanly possible. Another the happiness expressed with friends, away summer camps and an ever growing compassion for music.

'Dog Years' comes off of Roger's EP "Now That The Light Is Fading" somewhere around February 17th, 2017. Hopefully shortly their after a full length album will be released. With only five songs on the EP, Rogers has already stamped out a signature sound, while folk influenced a hint of dance/pop goes hand in hand for the songwriter.

What 'Dog Years' opens to the audience is another path on this continued journey of life. Will you accept, embrace as well as relish in this glory or see life as moving too fast, out of pace and all established in nostalgia before the true adventure has begun? Roger's asks the questions about life with an open existentialism.
