No Longer On Hold For The xx

The xx continue to distribute news and upcoming information about their latest album 'I See You'. Allow 'On Hold' to be one of the best introductions to The xx's newest musical creation. As of late the band has been teasing their fan with tour dates, a new album and even a few collaborations. All of this seems to be out of blue with The xx's latest hiatus of sorts, but an incredibly welcomed celebration.

With their second album 'Coexist' being released in 2012, hearing anything from The xx had severally been lacking until now. With 'I See You' being released early 2017 'On Hold' throws the cards to the wind by latching on to a more electronic/synth vibration of sound. 'On Hold' even picks up the tempo vocally from Romy Madley Croft and Jamie xx. As the tempo rises even the backbeat picks up where 'Coexsit' left off. At the time 'On Hold' seems to evolve right off from where The xx left off.

To adjust to the new fast pace the track partakes...it is a gradually accepting tone. For previous fans that have followed The xx throughout their career may see this as a jump towards a more mainstream sound. However, given the track record of The xx, no one should be too fearful.

We should expect a grand detour towards a realm of memorizing sonic ventures, as we all know 'I See You' will most likely be quite an album. After four years of silence, this band is allowing a full throttle explosion of unexpected music to soon be released upon the world.

Instead of sticking to a single recording studio, the band has traveled far wide from London, Texas, New York City and Los Angeles. Whether these various crowded, ever changing places will have an influence on the new album remains to be seen.
