This thing made ne go crazy a few weeks ago. I have been listening to it on and on and on and on. And once again – louder and louder. Gate is a dirty mix of lo fi psychedelic rock, post disco, noise, garage, weird boogie and experimental everything. Dirty guitars, broken beats, psychedelic and psychic samples and a very special and strange singing. Vocals are stupid and… ritualistically perfect. This is the purest dirt and the realest lo fi of the highest level where only the perfect noise sounds dwell.
This magical disco comes from the depths of experimental mind with edition of 600 copies. A man behind this act is Michael Morley. Michael Morley is an experimental musician and visual artist from New Zealand. He is a member of Dead C, where he sings, plays guitar and laptop. And also he has his solo project called Gate. Lurk for Michael Morley and Dead C. I’m sure you will find a lot interesting stuff for you. But now it is all about Gate. Gate is a real gate to something you have never experienced before. This funk is sick and weird. These loops are long, viscous and sexy. These soundscapes are dreamy and horrible and the same time. This Gate is fat and rough. It is like a journey you have always dreamt about. And somehow it has appeared to be even better than your most sweet dreams. You cannot miss it, oh no!
Gate was a soundtrack to my own special journey from water to water with my Special Someone. It was a very weird but definitely awesome and important journey. So this Gate is forever with us. Hope you will understand me as you dig the sounds of Gate.
