So much has been said, written and read about The Beatles that it’s quite hard to actually put their brilliance into perspective. Easily one of the greatest and most influential bands of the rock revolution, The Beatles eased through the 60’s with a symmetry of music that was youthfully energized, perfectly communicated and thoroughly emotional.
Rarely failing in creativity, The Beatles synthesized everything that’s idolized about early rock n’ roll. And with a craft and carefulness about their music that is both exciting and eclectic, their last album together Let It Be, was – and is – one of the absolute best of all time.
An era of music that was experimental, life changing and rebellious – the 60’s laid down the groundwork for many of the bands emerging into the early 70’s (one of my all-time favorite decades of music!) And even today, musicians are still being heavily influenced by the likes of The Beatles.
Building a strong bond and reputation from playing in clubs across Liverpool in the early 1960’s, The Beatles probably didn’t realize at the time they’d become one of the world’s greatest rock bands around. But they did. Getting hooked onto the addictive rock n’ roll riffs from the mid 50’s, the famous four – John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr became one of the most important musical acts today. Through their positively animated harmonies, infectious melodies and emotionally strong messages, The Beatles quite literally changed the world.
