"Abbey Road" is definitely the album that will cheer you up if you are a "Beatles" lover. It is their 11th studio album which includes incredible songs like "Come Together", "Something", "Oh! Darling", "Here Comes the Sun", "Because" etc. The album was released in 1969 and immediately reached number one in UK and US top Charts. "Abbey Road" is considered as one of the best-selling albums of "The Beatles" and also it is their last recorded album.
This album is an Echo of "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" with more precise musical forms in the songs and the album is more oriented to the pop rock genre (using mainly rock elements). At the time when they were recording the album, The Moog Synthesizer had just come out. I believe that's why the central experimental moments on the album is the appearance of the Moog synthesizers (used in "Because", "I Want You (She's So Heavy)", "Here Comes the Sun") which are very cleverly used, and what is important they are not overused!
Here are some reviews of my favorite songs of the album:
"Come Together" is a powerful and aggressive song that opens the album! Such a great bassline by McCartney, absolutely love it, I could listen to it all day on repeat! Even it is the first on the album this track is the last one for all four Beatles together.
"I Want You (She's So Heavy)" is the last track of the first side of the album(number 6). One of my favorite! In this track, Harrison is using his new "toy" - The Moog Synthesizer and creates a white noise that is slowly building up as the song is progressing. He said, "I had to have mine made specially because Mr. Moog had only just invented it".
"Here Comes the Sun" is one of the happiest and the cutest song I have heard of the Beatles! Such a sweet melody with rich harmony and voices. The song is just flawless! It is one of the most beautiful tunes wrote by Harrison (I would mention "Something" here also!)
"Because" is a song on the "side two" on the album, written by Lennon. Fantastic track with nine voices in all. The harmony is priceless. It's a slow ballad song that can easily be arranged for a lovely choral performance.
