The Myrrors - Entranced Earth

The renowned Arizona psychedelic rock band Myrrors came out with their latest new album ''Entranced Earth'' a short while ago. The seven track album dwells in the usual The Myrrors'esque realm of krautrock and space rock influenced psychedelia. It is perhaps somewhat similar to their previous album ''Arena Negra'', but is also definitely moving in a new and maybe more mellower krautrock and raga rock realm.

The first track on the album is a rather short intro, whereas the second track ''Liberty is in the Streets'' ventures on rather catchy kraut infused psychedelic rock paths. The track is a sort of a mixture of psychedelia similar to Pärson Sound and to that of Goat. All of this means that the track is rather transcendental and has a somewhat Eastern vibe to it as well. But in general as was the case with ''Arena Negra'' then this track also again reminds Pärson Sound a lot. The third track ''No Clear Light'' ventures in some folk infused psych ways and seems a bit like another interlude, while the title track ''Entranced Earth'' again packs some very Pärson Sound-like kraut infused repetitive psychedelia that evolves into a very Goat-like transcendental psych ending. Whatever the case may be, this track is a pretty awesome one, and packs some truly fine basslines as well. ''Tallos'' is another raga rock or Eastern infused interlude, while ''Invitation Mantra'' packs a pretty mellow kraut and psych rock mantra accompanied by some persistent repetitive drumming. ''Surem Dervish'' however is a another great repetitive krautrock song in a thoroughly Pärson Sound manner.

All in all ''Entranced Earth'' is a great psychedelic rock release as one would expect from The Myrrors. However it has a lot of interludes, and perhaps does not surpass their previous release ''Arena Negra''. What is characteristic to this album is that it is perhaps more mellow and moves even more on the roads of Pärson Sound-like krauty psychedelia. This of course means it is an album definitely worth listening.
