The Myrrors
About:
The Myrrors are a band from Tucson, Arizona that makes what they describe as "Sonoran Trance Music", a hypnotic stew of heavy drone and mountainside krautrock informed equally by pan-national psychedelia and experimental minimalism. The group was formed in 2007 by teenage multi-instrumentalists Nik Rayne and Grant Beyschau, and first gained international attention with their debut album Burning Circles in the Sky (featuring the underground hit "Warpainting"), before a four year hiatus saw the band restructure itself for a series of increasingly-ambitious and politically-minded LPs for cult labels like Cardinal Fuzz and Beyond Beyond is Beyond Records and a high-profile two-month European tour in 2015. Their most recent album for BBiB, 2017's Hasta La Victoria, sees the ever-fluctuating ensemble delving even deeper into the Terry Riley-meets-Amon Duul mantras hinted at on previous recordings, with tape loops, saxophones, woodwinds, and South Asian folk instruments taking equal billing to what might be described as your more typical rock-band instrumental lineup.
