The dust settles and the horns fall to silent, all that is able to be heard is the screaming fans waiting eagerly for the next number. Immersed in the beautiful lighting projected by the stage lights and the growing excitement, you suddenly hear the quiet intro of Marcus Mumford picking the guitar. Immediately you are able to recognize the tune and the crowd goes wild! Mumford and Sons it at it again, what a beautiful melody that is about to be experienced. I’ve never had the opportunity to attend a concert yet but who knows, maybe one day.
Although I’ve never been able to see them live, I am still able to imagine what it would be like to be standing front row. I have watched their different concert recordings a number amount of times over. It seems as if every time the song “Awake My Soul” comes on, it is normally after a very fast paced melody. This allows for a very elegant transition between songs and dramatizes the song even more so. There are many different opinions on what the message of the song was, but in my opinion, it is about individualism and finding yourself.
Throughout life you might be able to lean on your friends or family too help you through tough times, it’s a natural occurrence. The true magic, however, is found when you are able to find yourself. Your soul is something that is only available to you, it is strictly personal. In life you can take two roads, one being the road of appeal; acting only upon others suggestions or commands. The other is one that is unique to what you want out of life. In order to “awake” your soul, you need to live your life on your path, it may be a bit unfamiliar, but in order to be great you need to be different.
