Do you ever feel as if you are floating above the clouds when listening to music? You are able to be released into your own world of beauty and delight, able to start your own wonderful journey. As you go along your journey you notice the different twists and turns you are taking. You notice the different melodies, vocals, and instruments. It’s as if you enter your own jungle that is open to no one but yourself and the band that’s playing. There is lush vegetation cascading in symphony with the different notes being played. This is something that is experienced by only a select group of music listeners, those who are able to grasp and appreciate the idea of music.
The Beatles are said to have changed the music industry and the American culture with their music. Once you were able to appreciate and really get into what the Beatles represented than you were able to go on that journey for yourself. This wasn’t just some small come along go along band that made their mark and left. No, instead, the Beatles represented a movement in the American society that was irreverent and rebellious. One that could stand up to government authority and be brutally honest to the world.
Unlike your typical pop artist in the 60’s and 70’s, the Beatles seemed to blaze their own trail as far as music went. Not only was their stuff completely new and original but their attitudes behind the music were different. Some other bands during that time didn’t get that honesty to the fans part and it killed them in the end. The Beatles brought that rule-breaking attitude that James Dean and Elvis Presley once brought to the stage, just in a more subtle and sophisticated way. Also, the Beatles were able to make long-haired men not only almost natural but almost desirable.
