Kylie Minogue works her magic

I seriously think Kylie Minogue must record a ton of songs for each album. Over the years, she’s always used a selection of these songs as B-sides to fill up her single releases, but the Internet is also flooded with a ton more unreleased recordings by Aussies’s best export product.

Some of these songs have become as known as her hits among her fans and even most music bloggers are aware of the best of her hidden gems. So, expectations were high when word got out that a new unreleased track had popped up, recently.

It is assumed that “Voodoo” was recorded for her Kiss Me Once album, but never made it on there. As much as “Voodoo” is the synth-pop that the album contained, I actually agree with the decision to exclude this track. It does have a slightly different feel to it than the rest of the album, but would play with the theme of the album of getting tempted after being kissed..

On its own, the track is real easy to catch on to and full of the sexy tongue and cheekiness you can expect from Kylie. Though it is the first time, Kylie has mentioned black magic, casting spells and spirituality in her songs.

For a moment, while she was still working on “Kiss Me Once”, it was hinted that this track would be a bonus track on the Japanese version of the album, but even that didn’t happen. Still, it is quickly becoming one of the fan favorites and shows Kylie stills knows her pop music best.
