Beethoven versus The Beatles

Paradox? Not so much. This is a great project that conducts Philharmonia Concert, a private initiative made in Maracaibo (Zulia state), in Venezuela, the conductor David Rahn and his wife Janny.

The idea is to attract the public to the symphonic sounds. Thus, this initiative began on June 30, 2011, with "Beethoven versus The Beatles".

Then they "Tchaikovsky versus Queen", "Stravinsky versus ABBA", "Ravel vs Coldplay", "Wagner versus Bee Gees", "Dukas versus Michael Jackson".

Thus, in these musical events, the public listens to the works of the great classical composers or academics, with their accurate and correct repertoires together with symphonic arrangements of popular works.

As the Rahn himself says, "the principal to do concerts 'versus' objective was to show the public, especially young people, the beauty of classical music while the music to please a group recognized worldwide. That goal was accomplished, there was a great success, not only symphonic concerts Rock but also the purely classical (with an audience of all ages in both formats) "filled.

Here you can hear a sample of that work https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTIBTv4B6to and if curiosity gets the best, as they announce their next event, you can visit the YouTube channel of the Maracaibo Symphony Orchestra .
