Foster The People Don't Conform, They Invent

Foster The People's newest album Sacred Hearts Club is light-hearted compared to the band's previous albums. With that being said, the band has not lost their musical touch or persistence to push normal boundaries. Foster The People intend to stand out when it comes to the indie genre, so Sacred Hearts Club should not come as any surprise for being wildly different. When Sacred Hearts Club was released to the masses, some fans could not associate the new sound with the band. Some suggested a Daft Punk influence as well as an electronic heavy sound. Where some fans were left scratching their heads in bewilderment. However, this transition towards synth electronica was an evolution towards progressive standards. As bands nowadays have to conform to what most individuals want to listen too, Foster The People are finding loop holes by creating a signature sound. If you haven't looked at the latest charts, most bands topping the best seller's are electronic based. Eventually, most bands will have to find a way to successfully transition towards that type of sound. Foster The People are doing exactly what is needed of them. However, let's spot the difference, Foster The People, are using a bass rhythm to add a funky beat. Much the same as Mark Ronson has used in previous productions with Bruno Mars and Queens of the Stone Age. "I Love My Friends" does come off as a summer playlist, type of track. As the three plus minute song plays out, many instruments are introduced.  Through the loops and constant repetitive drums, as a listener, you experience multiple forms of pleasant emotions. "I Love My Friends" can also be that song stapled as a party track or the ending to a night out. Whatever the reasoning may be Foster The People have found their niche.
