Being in an awkward situation is something that just about everyone can relate to. In I Don't Wanna Dance, this infectious number does make one (well, at least me) want to dance. It espouses the tale of a nervous lover who doesn't want to dance with his other half simply due to social anxiety:
Losing my cool
Over some accidental weekend
But honey I've got nothing to prove
And I know it seems cruel
You never call me on a Monday
Baby it's got nothing to do with you, no
Genius
He also feels a lot of guilt over being unable to join his lover on the dancefloor:
I let you down
I know it
I'll let you down over and over
Genius
The very last line has him saying that he really can't help it, and he'll continue to feel this anxiety, therefore there is absolutely no way he can dance at all. Despite (supposedly) being an awkward dancer, he is sure is one fine singer, with melodic pop-rock vocals! These vocals belong to Chase Lawrence of COIN, and he is backed up by Ryan Winnen (drums), Joe Memmel (lead guitar, backing vocals) and Zachary Dyke (bass guitar).
