LCD Soundsystem continue to master their comback

James Murphy has always been a self-conscious performer who likes to pick apart modern culture with the skill of a comedian. "Tonite", the third single from the bands upcoming fourth album is a song that has Murphy at full power in this respect. In terms of sound, this is classic LCD Soundsystem, hey why change when everyone thought you were never coming back? It's over 5 minutes of building pace, grooving synths, glittering percussion, and a shit-load of style.

"Tonite" has Murphy investigating how our culture has shrunk our lives to sets of goals. Our favourite songs tell us that the only time that is important is now, that everyone is obsessed with death that we compete with each other using our best self-avatars on Facebook and Twitter and more. Murphy even says he sounds like his mother, but what he is really saying is, relax, it’s a lie, your life isn't over if you miss something. LCD Soundsystem have come back at a time were Arcade Fire's p[lace as cultural investigators is open. They seem like a good fit.
