Let's be real for a moment, Years & Years came out of the dark and into the light. Before anyone had a chance Years & Years over threw the industry by releasing songs and videos that not only related to one another but took a stand. Whether one music video seemed to focus on mental illness, love, desire and coming to accept yourself as the human being you are. Years & Years have become an unspoken voice for many and continues to explore the realm of possibilities, that our society may still be in fear of, or choose to misunderstand.
'Desire' further explores the sensuality that Years & Years shows. Featuring Tove Lo, adding a nice dynamic between the vocal style of Olly Alexander and Tove Lo, allowing the song to explore a rooted edge. While 'Desire' already defines an edgy electronic pulse, each Years & Years track comes to a point (about towards the middle to end of the track) where a recount of surrealism is exposed. If the intention is do so, the band defines an undertone of current events rocking the world at this point.
Why 'Desire' should be focused upon is for the simplistic nature of the songs direction. Love is love and anyone that desires so...should. Why stop the laws of nature and continue forward on evolving as human beings capable of desire and sensual acts? Years & Years questions and answer's each obstacle without blinking or a moment of hesitation, nor should they.
