EbxnyRxse Queen Perspective on Palm Trees On Mars - Radio Edit

One memory that has always stuck with me is from high school. In high school I was in the show choir and the vocal ensemble and we would do a big show every spring. After the spring concert my senior year one of the parents came up to me and said "I always love coming to the concerts to hear you sing! When you sing I hear angels." That compliment really changed the way I viewed myself and made me want to be an artist for real! ,

Oh man! Did I have some jobs! My first job was at Quiznos!I worked many custom service jobs. I also worked at Chik-Fil-A ...a pet shop...a cell phone company....I was a cheerleading coach too! That is probably the only job I've ever had that I really loved!

What drives me to make music is the love I have for it. It affects our lives in so many ways. Music is what feelings sound like. I love harmonies and the way they blend and contrast. Music is how I deal with life's highs and lows. I think about several songs that got me through hard times, especially as a teenager. I want to make that kind of music! Music is how I express myself. Music is life! Also, when I was 17 my father was murdered. I stood over his casket and promised him I'd take my music where he didn't get a chance to take his and I'm not going to let him down.

The most significant lesson I've learned as an artist is to not take a "no" personally. Sometimes a no is protection from God. That situation might not have been the best for me. if there is a no here, that just means God has a yes somewhere else!

Being an artist has done exactly the opposite. I have had the opportunity to meet, sing, and perform with so many great and talented people! I have been able to learn and expand from them and I've gained a whole musical family who share my love for the arts. Being an artist is how I met my husband! I was hired to sing at a church and he was the pianist.

Right now I feel like there is so much going on in the world...so much fighting...so much negativity. I want to make music that will make people feel good. Give them songs to hide in when the world gets too heavy.

Three words I would want my fans to use to describe me would be real, unapologetic, and ME! Yes , I want them to see me, myself as a whole movement. Like, I don't want to be compared to anyone else. I am just me. As they get to know me I want them to be able to see themselves in me.

My favorite song on this project so far is Palm Trees On Mars. I love this song because it gives good vibes. It gives me all the top down, sun shinin', summertime feels!

Oh man...there are so many great artists i'd absolutely love to go on tour with! How do I choose? I would have to say Brandy. I absolutely love her! She has been a role model for me in so many ways since I was a young girl. Her voice and vocal ability are beyond words.

My earliest memory of music is sitting at the top of my basement steps listening to my Dad and his band ,Word,Blood, and Power, have rehearsals. Most nights of my early childhood I went to sleep serenaded by a live band.
