Who are you and what do you do?
Answer:

My name is Juz Q. I'm a Cincinnati, OH artist.

How does your background play into this song?
Answer:

I've been on a interesting journey that lead to a music producer hearing me ad-lib to a beat he was creating. That lead me to writing and producing my 2 first singles. 

What is your earliest memory of listening to music?
Answer:

Since I was in the womb. 

At what moment in your life did you decide to become an artist / performer?
Answer:

Just this past year. It was more of a calling if anything that happened in 2022

What genres does this release play into?
Answer:

R&B, Afro-beats, and Pop (you can say). 

How has your sound and style evolved in the last 3 years?
Answer:

Each month I improve and getting stronger with my vocal cords. I learn different pitches I can play with to see where I can go. 

If you could go on tour with any artist, who would it be and why?
Answer:

In order Mary J. Blige, Sade, Amy Lee and Chantress Seba

How would you describe your favorite artist's music to someone who has never heard them before?
Answer:

Powerful and Alive.

How would you describe your music to someone who has never heard it before?
Answer:

Powerful, Alive, Uplifting, Unique, Refreshing, Soul moving, Captivating. 

If you could attend a performance by any artist, dead or alive, who would you choose and why?
Answer:

Chantress Seba

What is your favorite song you have made, and why?
Answer:

Decide on You. When I made this song, I was able to let go fears and debt and let my vocals reign free. 

If you could only listen to three artists for the rest of your life, who would you choose and why?
Answer:

Mary J Blige, Sade and Chantress Seba. They all sing from the soul and I feel that. 

What does your dream performance look like?
Answer:

On stage, intimate setting. Camp like fire close by or a lot of candles. Every week. 

What is the strangest place where you have discovered a new song?
Answer:

In my soul

What do you want people to feel when they listen to your music?
Answer:

Home. Warmth. Moving. Strong feeling to look into themselves. 

What three words would you want your fanbase to use to describe you?
Answer:

Mind, Body, Soul

What is your favorite way of sharing your music?
Answer:

To sing to you live.

Do you practice? How has your practice changed over time?
Answer:

Yes. I say about 10 hours (everyday). From last year, words can't describe the improvements I've made exploring what I can create.

What is the most memorable response you've had to your work?
Answer:

Verbatim- "Sounds real good and makes me feel real good inside, but it's unnatural, always remember that".

Answer:

Decide on You for now. 

What has been your scariest experience while pursuing music?
Answer:

Learning myself and accepting the connection I had all along. 

What has been your most embarassing moment while pursuing music?
Answer:

Being unsure of myself.

If you could alter the music industry in any way, what would you change and why?
Answer:

I'm altering it now by adding my sound (frequency) to the mix. 

Has being an artist made your life lonely? How do you counteract this?
Answer:

I felt it at first. Trying to understand this talent I just discovered, I found myself often alone and practicing and the only person who was curious to see what I could do was myself. I've learned having that time to myself, helped me love and cherish myself. Happy that I can stare into the mirror and love what stared back. Love the time I spent with myself. I was no longer alone!

How would you define having an artistic outlook on life?
Answer:

Beautiful and fulfilling.

Answer:

Not that I "liked" to be compared to but "was" compared to by others was Jill Scott and Sade alot. 

What is the most significant lesson you've learned through being an artist?
Answer:

Let go.
