Who are you and what do you do?
Answer:

Our band, a blend of eclectic influences and groundbreaking sounds, comprises two artists: Davide Perico and Yoshimitsu4432.
Davide is virtuoso in composing and beat making, he's renowned for his work in film and video game soundtracks, where his compositions weave narratives and evoke emotions. His style is a tapestry of influences, ranging from classical European symphonies to modern electronic beats.
Hailing from Japan, Yoshimitsu4432 is the enigmatic guitar-hero of our band. His sounds are not just heard; they're experienced, creating an immersive world that transcends cultural boundaries
Together, we're more than just a band; we're a fusion of cultures, styles, and eras. In our music, you'll hear the echoes of Italian opera blending seamlessly with the pulsating rhythms of Tokyo's neon-lit streets.

How does your background play into this song?
Answer:

Yoshimitsu
My guitar style has its roots in the hard rock of the 80s and 90s, but I also love the post-rock guitar approach of the 2000s, and my guitar playing on this song is influenced by that era.

Davide
In the second part of our song, my classical piano background takes center stage, infusing solemnity into each note.

What is your earliest memory of listening to music?
Answer:

Yoshimitsu
I still remember the first time I heard a live orchestra play at the Boston Pops Orchestra (which played Star Wars and Cats songs), which my mother took me to see as a child.

Davide
I remember it as if it were yesterday, the first time I entered a room as a child and found myself facing a grand piano in its immense majesty, and heard its incredible sound.

At what moment in your life did you decide to become an artist / performer?
Answer:

Davide
Ever since my earliest memories, there has been no other desire in my heart but to create music every single day of my life. This unwavering passion has been the guiding star of my existence, illuminating my path in the world of melodies and harmonies.

Yoshimitsu
When I was in high school, I decided to live by music when I played my first live concert in a small hall at school.

What genres does this release play into?
Answer:

Our music is a mosaic of diverse elements, each piece a distinct echo of our artistic imagination. This particular song, however, stands as a unique chapter in our musical narrative. Rooted in the realms of electronica and post-rock, it draws its lifeblood from these genres, weaving a tapestry that is both intricate and expansive.

Yet, the soul of this composition reaches beyond these genres, drawing inspiration from the grandeur of epic sci-fi movie soundtracks. Imagine the vastness of space, the drama of interstellar journeys, and the depth of cosmic mysteries—all these elements resonate within the notes of our song.

How has your sound and style evolved in the last 3 years?
Answer:

Yoshimitsu
In my journey with DY3, I deeply sensed the need for a distinct guitar sound that would define our band's identity. As a guitarist, this realization sparked a creative quest within me. I was driven not just to play, but to innovate, to mold my own original tone that would resonate uniquely with our music's essence.Embarking on this sonic exploration, I experimented, tweaked, and played, crafting several distinctive and unique guitar tones. Each tone was like a brushstroke, adding color and texture to our musical canvas. These tones weren't just different sounds; they were expressions of my artistic voice, reflections of my journey with the guitar.
This endeavor to create my own tones was more than a technical pursuit; it was a personal journey into the heart of what it means to be a guitarist in a band like DY3. The tones I developed became signatures of our sound, contributing not just to our songs, but to our identity as a band. Through them, I found a way to infuse our music with a part of myself, a sonic imprint that is distinctly mine yet harmoniously blends with the ethos of DY3.

Davide
Over these past three years, I have undergone a profound transformation. The songs of DY3, with their intricate layers and complex structures, have been a monumental challenge for me as the band's producer. Tackling these compositions wasn't just a task; it was a revolution in my approach as a mix and sound engineer, and more broadly, in my entire way of composing music.
These songs demanded more than technical proficiency; they required a reimagining of my creative process. As I delved into their depths, my focus shifted, placing melody at the heart of our instrumental and experimental tracks. This new emphasis on melody within the complex framework of our songs reshaped my understanding of musical composition. It was a journey of balancing experimentation with the intrinsic beauty of melody, of finding harmony in seemingly disparate elements. This shift wasn't just about mixing sounds; it was about blending philosophies, merging the abstract with the melodic, the avant-garde with the accessible.
This evolution in my approach has been transformative, not just for the music of DY3 but for me personally as an artist. It's a testament to the power of music to change, to challenge, and to inspire growth in unexpected ways.

What themes do you explore throughout your music?
Answer:

In our musical odyssey with DY3, we venture into themes as boundless as the cosmos itself. Our fascination lies in space – its immense expanse serving as a powerful symbol of relentless pursuit, a metaphor for exploring the essence of our being. Through our melodies and harmonies, we delve into this cosmic vastness, seeking to understand and express the profundity of human experience.
The theme of space in our music is not just about celestial bodies or the physical universe; it's about what these represent – the endless quest for knowledge, for understanding ourselves and our place in the universe. Our compositions become vessels, journeying through the mysteries of space, mirroring our internal exploration of identity, purpose, and existence.
In this grand cosmic setting, we inevitably encounter the theme of solitude. Space, in its infinite expanse, embodies the ultimate solitude – a vast, silent void where one confronts the enormity of existence. Our music touches on this solitude, not just as a state of being alone, but as a profound experience of introspection and self-awareness.
Yet, in contrast to this solitude, we also explore the theme of friendship. The vastness of space, while highlighting solitude, equally accentuates the value of connections and relationships. Our music explores how, even in the immense loneliness of the cosmos, the bonds of friendship provide warmth, meaning, and a sense of belonging. It's about finding our 'constellations' – the people who light up our lives amidst the darkness of space.
Through our art, we navigate these complex themes, weaving them into the tapestry of our music. It's a journey of discovery, where each note and each melody is a step further into the unknown, exploring the depths of space and the human heart alike.
