We hope you enjoy and please feel free to ask Romee Rombe anything!
Do you have a distinct way of making music, how do you work?
Answer:

Usually I go in my car and just listen to beats. I call my car the Rome Mobile. It’s my lavatory and my kitchen to cook up some amazing music. I got the sound system and sound quality that helps the best speak to me and I deliver exactly what the best needs. Or whenever I’m in a certain mood and I feel like I need to vent, I’ll vent to a beat. Talking to people about my emotions was always a struggle for me especially as being a man in this time. People also don’t listen and like to judge every situation. So that’s why I vent to someone who will actually listen and tell me what I want and need to hear, and that’s the beat. It listens and doesn’t interrupt me. It doesn’t judge me, it stays just as genuine and that’s why we work good together. Music is my therapist and it helps me release my feelings and emotions no matter what it is that’s going on, it’s no judgement. I love it here.

Walk us through your music creation process, specifically for this song.
Answer:

So in this song I was dealing with a lot during that time and I was feeling lost. Everything wasn’t feeling pure other than my kids. I have a bad habit of going out the way for every and anybody that I care about knowing that they wouldn’t do the same for me. I’m a dude with a real big heart honestly as long as you don’t get me to my bad side. And that big heart had me putting myself last in all situations which led to a whole lot of depression. Even when nobody was putting me first. It was something I dealt with my whole life. I finally realized that this needs to stop and I need to give myself that same energy that I give others because

Do you prefer working alone or collaborating with others? How does this influence your sound?
Answer:

I would do either honestly. Solo works gets me very personal and In tuned with my inner self. While with a collaboration, I’m working within harmony if that makes sense. Because it all has to sound good together. So when I’m alone I tend to get more in twined to the song for myself while with people I. Focused on making us sound good in unity. Both leads to more creative thinking

Do you have any particular methods that help you flush out your creativity while making music?
Answer:

Just focusing on how I’m feeling. My thoughts layer down on a track always triggers that creativity heavily.

Which aspect of the writing, production and release process do you enjoy the most?
Answer:

When I’m in the studio and just putting everything together. The after math of it looks and sounds so unreal. It honestly surprises me on how talented I really am. Not even to sound cocky because trust me I’m as humble as ever, but credit must be given when it’s due. And I’m surprised.

How many beats do you produce per month?
Answer:

I honestly don’t have a limit. The studio is like my man cave and if I had the opportunity to be there every time I write a new song then it’ll probably be about 5-15 songs a month.

Which production tools were the most helpful while producing this track?
Answer:

Production tools that helped when making this track was honestly just the producer. As long as they know what they’re doing as well as I do on my end, it’ll always be great. I don’t really use any voice edits or anything because all they ever tell me is that I sound better without it!

Which production tools and plugins would you recommed to aspiring producers?
Answer:

I don’t necessarily have any recommendations other than the auto tune. Everything doesn’t need it fam. Ease up on it. There’s so many producers that automatically start off with it not even giving the artist a chance to show and even hear their own true sound. It makes artists rely on it way too much never really seeing their true talent.

What is the best advice you've received to improve the production quality of your music?
Answer:

DO NOT BE CHEAP! If you want Louie then you gotta pay that Louie money. If you want a master piece then you have to pay that master piece money. You want legit, you gotta pay legit money!

What was the biggest drawback when producing this track?
Answer:

The biggest drawback was honestly being afraid of people thinking I’m too soft. As a man, n Oman wants to feel like that but it’s me for real. And I’d rather be famous for myself than somebody I’m not.

What is your favorite instrument to work with, and why?
Answer:

THE GUITAR! It’s so smooth. You can make any type of beat with it and any kind of topic with it. The guitar surpasses anyone’s versatility with its own, and that’s why I’ll always love em.

What production elements do you believe are necessary to making a great song?
Answer:

Taking your time! You can’t rush perfection. Breathe and deliver. If you can’t say the next one without running out of breath. Punch in. There’s nothing wrong with that. People think you just have to go in there and do everything in one take. The pros take their time in their art. Can’t ruin your craft that had the potential of a major success just because you wanna rush it. You’ll regret it!

What is the most random sound you have included within one of your tracks? Where did you find it, and how did you implement it?
Answer:

The most random sound is probably my artist tag. It was an idea from one of my closest homies and he mentioned it and I was like hmmm… let me try it out and ever since then it stuck. Now I have all my fans screaming it and they love it. I do it the same way Dj Khalid would say “another one” or how 42 Dugg whistles to let everyone know that they’re on the track. So when you hear that scream “ROMBEEEEEEEE” in a song, you know who it is. TURN ME UP!

Describe the fastest time in which you completed the writing and production process.
Answer:

Honestly the fastest time I’ve ever created a song and laid it down was probably in less than an hour. Two of my other homies who I make music with, Solo Sxint and Retro Calii, asked me to get on a song with him. He went in the booths to do their part and asked me to write to it. They got done in about 30-40 minutes and when they came out they asked if I was done and I tell them that I was done 20 minutes ago, I’m just rehearsing it to make sure I do it right but I’m ready. Then I go in there and knock it out in about 10 minutes and just like that the song is done. They say I’m unreal and that’s my form of freestyle because once I start typing, I don’t stop until it’s done. It just comes to me the same way a freestyle would.

Which production elements did you prioritize while working on this track? Is there anything you really wanted to stick out to listeners?
Answer:

I wanted to put emphasis on self awareness. For all the people like me the message in this song was to love yourself. You won’t find anyone to make you more happier than yourself. Seeking for your happiness within other people will only ruin you.

If you could choose anyone to produce one of your tracks, who would you choose and why?
Answer:

JONNY MONSOOOOOOON! That man there is a production God! For anyone out there, if you’re in south Florida go to Jinny Monsoon in Boynton Beach man. Tap in with him. He’s a quick worker and knows what he’s doing. He works magic behind he song.

Which topics do you find yourself consistently drawn to when writing a new song, and why?
Answer:

Feeding my family because that’s all I want. All my people to be great.

What inspired this song?
Answer:

My past situations of never putting myself first and always getting taken Advantage of by all the people that a cared about. Leading to a depression and self problems. Making me realize that I have to do more self reflecting if I want to actually be happy with myself. So I acknowledge all of my traits that needs work, what I do to help it, and what I want. Ofcourse including who I am and why I am the way I am. Teaching everybody and even myself about Romee Rombe who’s speaking for myself, Jerome R. Baubien, and the world on relatable situation. Who is your biggest influence, that isn't an artist or musician?
Answer:

My biggest influence honestly is my two beautiful babies. My son and daughter. For my son being another colored male in this crazy world we live in inspired me to be a perfect example of how he should move in this lifetime. Stay out the way and push for success. Consistency is the key to all success. And that also goes for my daughter as well. For her not to ever settle for anyone who won't benefit her. Showing her how a man is supposed to be, so she can always recognize the difference between a man and a boy. Showing them  both that life is what you make it. Staying positive will eventually lead to positive results. But negativity will always affect you negatively. Never give up on your dreams because there is always a reason. The same way as they're  My reason.

Who are you and what do you do?
Answer:

My name is Romee Rombe and I am an independent music artist out of South Florida. My music is a melodic voice for the world to hear and relate too. Tapping into all emotions of human nature in the deepest way possible.

How does your background play into this song?
Answer:

My background plays the whole part into this song because it’s based off of myself. This song was a message to my self stating how important self awareness is, and without it , the issues that will occur in your life by trusting others with yours. Reasoning why it became a toxic love because I’m trying to be aware of myself after already damaging myself for others. Making this extremely hard but not impossible. Everybody goes through things in life… it’s about how you go about it that makes it a lesson or a disaster

What is your earliest memory of listening to music?
Answer:

My earliest memory of listening to music is honestly back in elementary school. I was about 8 or 9 years old telling all the little girls in my grade that I can sing. The song I always sung for them was Kiss Kiss By Chris Brown and T-Pain not realize how wild that is now that I think about it. But ever since then I started to actually listen to the words and close my eyes to imagine a visual picture of myself being as great as whatever song I was listening to. It brought me major joy and that’s when I realized I had a thing for music but not sure what it was.

At what moment in your life did you decide to become an artist / performer?
Answer:

The moment I decided to really be an artist / performer was back in 2018 when I started making music that everybody couldn’t stop singing. They treated it as if it’s like those catchy songs that you just can’t get out of your head. And it made me feel good about myself and made me wanna actually tap into the creative side of myself, not knowing the beast that I was wakening. Though I had my doubt like every real artist would but best believe that I gave it a shot. Seeing myself come in 12th place out of 200 performers spoke to me, and the only reason was for the song quality. For the rest of the night I’m having people come up to me to network like crazy and do features and offer me mint deals and all that just from one night. It felt destined. So now I have to keep it going

Answer:

I see a dream performance as something like a halftime show during the Super Bowl. It doesn’t feel like work, it feels like the greatest accomplishment. A time where you’ll come to the realization of all that you’ve conquered. In front of the whole entire world, with acts and scenes, a real performance full of art. While the whole world sings YOUR song.

Who is your dream artist or musician to collaborate with?
Answer:

Rod Wave for sure

What is the strangest place where you have discovered a new song?

Do you practice? How has your practice changed over time?
Answer:

I practice all the time. No matter how good you are, practice is necessary. My practice changed a lot over time because now it helps me not waste time in the studio. I’ve practiced the song so much to the point i know how everything should be so when i get to the studio, I just lay it down. The majority of artist sped 2 hours in the studio on 1 song. I go in the studio for 2 hours and leave with 3 or 4 songs. It’s always best to be prepared. We live in an expensive world, time isn’t even free anymore. So don’t waste it!

What is the most memorable response you've had to your work?
Answer:

“You have such a soulful mixed voice bro, You’re gonna make it, no doubt!” Cant help but feel amazing when i hear that. I even get told that I’m not human by everyone who goes into a studio session with me, including the producers. They say I’m “unreal” when it comes to music because I’m “so talented. You’re doing what majority of the artists wish that they could do but they can’t.” These are all things that I’ve never said out my mouth about myself. Just like lil baby said, “ I’ll never call myself a GOAT, I leave that up to the people.”

How do you plan on being a game-changer within your genre?
Answer:

Im trying to be the worlds motivation. So that’s what im doing. I wanna let the world know that it’s okay to be different than the general population and that striving for a dream that everybody else doubts for you isn’t stupid, ITS MOTIVATING. Not even to prove them wrong but to prove to yourself that you really like that! Life is literally what you make it. And thats what imma show em.

What is your definition of success as an artist? How do you measure this success?

What has been your most embarassing moment while pursuing music?
Answer:

My most embarrassing moment is probably when I was a little too intoxicated so when I got up on stage I was slurring my words way too hard. And thats not okay but lesson learned
