Skeppet are an interesting Danish psychedelic rock/krautrock band, who I have reviewed on this site once before. This time however the album under review is their compilation album ''Deluxe''. An album that was released back in 2015. The album tends to be a mixture of repetitive krautrock patterns and rather lengthy catchy psychedelic rock jams, while drone and drone-rock could equally chatacterize the music of Skeppet.
The album starts off with a track titled ''Saluto!'', and this fine track can be described well by saying it is some rather catchy krautrock from start to finish that is accompanied by some fine noisy guitar sounds. ''Saluto!'' is followed by the massive 15 minute long psychedelic kraut journey by the name of ''Coast Rider'', and one can surely imagine driving on a road near the coastline to the sound of this track in a somewhat transcendental repetitive loop. The next two tracks however are perhaps not as good as the first two, but still offer some pretty okay krauty psych rock. These tracks are however followed by the epic 10-minute long psychedelic masterpiece ''Inat Landet''. This track is also a bit heavier than the first four tracks and offers some fine distortion laden psych guitars, as well as a mid-tempo kraut pattern throughout the duration of this fine track. This darker track is followed by another rather upbeat krautrock track ''Tripolitania'' and a rather dreamy ''Skog Och Jord''. The last track on the album is a rather good one as well. ''Sargasso'' namely offers some some fine dreamy and meandering psychedelia.
All in all ''Deluxe'' is a great compilation album and features some truly astonishing tracks and is definitely worthwhile listening to or buying. Anyone who is into psychedelic rock or krautrock should definitely check this album out.
