I think we all know that feeling when something is so tender, nice and beautiful that it is just hard to handle. You look at it or listen to it and your heart aches and it’s hard to breathe… because it is too good, too cute, too personal. It seems like it’s just impossible to handle it.
This thing happens to me very often. Especially as I’m getting older this feeling is stronger and sharper. And it happened to me again recently. Why? Blame it on Kourosh Yaghmaei. He made my soul want to cry; I was touched. And I cannot stop doing it till I am totally exhausted when it comes to Kourosh Yaghmaei. So be careful but listen to him anyway.
Kourosh Yaghmaei is an Iranian guitarist and singer. His unique lyrical style is a mix of Iranian melodies and psychedelic rock. Well, he was a pioneer of Iranian rock. And his music can touch something tender and melancholic deep in one’s soul. Kourosh Yaghmaei was popular in the 1970s but then it was the Iranian revolution in 1979 and, unfortunately, that affected Kourosh Yaghmaei’s career. His performances were banned; he had no legal permission to play his music in Iran.
But anyway he gained popularity throughout the world with his beautiful melodies and accurate experiments combining eastern and western musical traditions. In 2011 the world saw the album of his beautiful legacy called “Back to the Brink”. So find this album and experience this tender lyrical psychedelic piece of art of Kourosh Yaghmaei.
