King Blood is an American one-man psychedelic noise rock band of Ryland Wharton. He has so far released two full length albums and an EP, and all of them have been quite exceptional to the smallest detail. Both King Blood's first album ''Eyewash Silver'', as well as his second album ''Vengeance, Man'', pack some amazing loud muddy and noisy looping psychedelic noise rock/garage rock. Sometimes this material is so good, that it baffles me that this is actually a one-man band.
King Blood's first album Eyewash Silver impresses with raw, lo-fi and muddy, yet highly transcendental repetitive looping noisy psychedelia. The rhythm section is very much a looping tempo that pushes the tracks forward into some repetitive distortion driven noisy psych rock that always seems to have another dimension to which it can evolve, as the tracks flow by in a somewhat Western feel. The tracks often feel like traversing terrain in the prairies, as they have some underlying very American expansion to the West feel. The best tracks on this album are perhaps Black Money, End of Primitive and Moon in The Gutter. All of which are some marvelous krautrockish psychedelic noise rock tracks. The second album ''Vengeance, Man'' essentially follows up where the previous album left off. That is some fine lo-fi sounding distortion driven melodic psychedelic noise rock. Tracks like Silent Dust or Wheels Across the Night pack a noisy mystical atmosphere that would surely blow ones mind to the core when heard played live.
King Blood is a seriously underrated one-man band that packs some of the finest loud transcendental noisy psych rock currently out there. Check it out. It will surely blow anyones mind.
