Relationships come and go, ride up and down, all around, and any what way you wanna say. They can be fun, happy, sad, crazy, or all of it at once. Still, we stay. For what reason? We sometimes don’t exactly know. Sometimes, it’s simply put as… “It just feels right.”
The road to getting into one can be even more puzzling. Tinashe’s latest song, "Player", featuring Chris Brown, depicts that stage and how the whole scene is performed. With all the various characters presenting the story, the music video is very intriguing to watch.
With Tinashe’s music, I’m still getting over "All Hands On Deck" and I still get turnt by "2 On". Tinashe smacks us with track after track in her path to stardom. She is definitely an entertainer, performer, and artist to keep track of. Her song "Player", for her upcoming album Joyride, has just the right beat and timing for her next phase in overpowering your eardrums and mood.
The song’s beats keep the rhythm continually and sporadically fluctuating. Beginning with a soft smooth sound, it expresses delicacy much like the first interaction into a relationship. As the drum beats hit, the song picks up in tempo and the mood changes to a more upbeat sound. It’s like the situation between two “players” and the fight to who gives in the most. And then if that’s not enough, when Chris Brown jumps into the scene, the song just smashes. Ultimately, we have another Tinashe track that we would love to bump in our stereo systems.
This song reflects on just how a “player” would “play the game”. He or she gives a little then receives a little. Just the right suspense to keep the ball rollin’. In the music video, this is displayed just how those moves are through dance. Various styles and various characteristics express just how well each side is played among different angles and personalities. There is also the end results of each style played. Finally, there comes that one special person that seems to play the game just right but both sides are stuck on the decision to really commit or not. Do you wanna play or be played? Or can it be much greater than that if they just get passed the barriers? In the long run, both sides decide to keep it going and just play.
