Brett Castro never fails to turn moments in his personal life into a killer soundtrack for our lives - and he did it again with his newest single "teach you to fall in love."
Released on the week of Valentine's Day, this is the second single from his upcoming EP “i’m sorry,” set to release in March 2019. Last year, Castro released his first EP Cry A Little Quieter, which was featured on New Music Friday, called “captivating” by Hillydilly, and cracked the Viral Top 50 on Spotify.“teach you to fall in love” follows Castro falling out of love. With a deep groove reminiscent of Daniel Caesar, and harmonic and vocal prowess similar to Jacob Collier, “teach you to fall in love” is a sonic powerhouse. The bassline weaves smoothly throughout the pocket as Castro’s vocals croon overtop. In this new single, the native Ohioan gives a sweet contemporary pop sound that is gently intimate and wildly immersive.“I actually had this song recorded and mixed back in 2017,” Castro says, “then my hard drive crashed while I was living in Berlin and I lost all my music. On top of the breakup I was going through, I felt like I had lost everything. Remaking this song, writing all this new music that’s on this EP - it was a way of finding myself again.”
