Kelly Clarkson is back. It’s the same Kelly, the same powerful voice, the same diva like aura about her - but with a whole new label backing her this time. How much difference can a new record label make to the way an artist sounds or the kind of music they make? Well, apparently a lot!
Kelly announced moving to Atlantic Records last year - a first since she has been associated with RCA all through her career since American Idol gave her the shot to fame. And as a first taste of the new collaboration and working with team Atlantic, she just dropped two brand new singles. That’s right, one single - “Love So Soft” that she previously promised and another one - “Move You”, as a surprise. Of course we couldn’t be happier with just that news, but wait till you hear what she’s got in store!
“Love So Soft” was released along with a visualistically genius music video. The RnB meets Pop meets Hip Hop song has bluesy vocals and great harmonies. I’m not sure I’ve heard quite something like this ever before.
While the other song “Move You” is more of a country pop ballad. We’ve always known Kelly was a strong country style vocalist and we finally get to experience this.
Clarkson previously mentioned how the new team she’s working with has been supportive of her choices and she’s finally making the record she always wanted to. And, with the new songs we can clearly see what she means by that. The new music brings out perfectly, her country influences as well as other styles of Broadway, Ballads, Gospel - almost all of her versatility is being poured into this album.
The album comes out this Oct. 27th and Kelly is all set to explore new horizons, stretching her boundaries… and, as fans, I think we can do nothing better than applaud her on!
