As you know, Online Marketing is one of my interests. I wish I had more time for this myself. Even though I wanted to share multiple posts daily, and do my blogs and vlogs with clear regularity, I haven’t been able to keep it up for over a year. The amount of followers I have and likes I get fluctuate just as heavily as the amount of posts I share, so I never really build anything up to work with (feel free to follow me on your favorite channel nevertheless, though ;-) )
Famous people have it much easier. Of course, they may have a complete marketing team helping out, and of course they much more exciting lives, so they just have more interesting things to share. They do have things to share on a daily basis. It’s not a surprise then that the most followed people on Instagram are usually pop stars and sports people.
A recent study has taken a look at the reach of these stars Instagram posts. In particular, it’s taken a look at how many likes their posts generate on average. It turned out that Selena Gomez, with the most followers on Instagram, actually doesn’t have the biggest reach. Soccer player Leo Messi actually manages to get an average of 1.14M likes per post. Selena gets 1.06M likes on average.
Other music stars on the list with most likes are the usual suspects and in the order of posts popularity, with the first name being the most popular: Taylor Swift (coming awfully close to Selena with 1.059M likes), Louis Thomlinson, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Ariana Grande, Beyoncé and Demi Lovato.
The full list shows 15 people who get the most likes and I’m, personally, actually really surprised that no rappers are on this list. Nevertheless, they all get a dazzling amount of likes per post, but don’t let that get you down. Most research about social media has also shown that most people make their life look so much better than it actually is. We all just “like” the idea of their lives.
