Anne-Marie Channels Romeo + Juliet With Alarm

If you are or have been a fan of Baz Lurhmann's Romeo + Juliet 1996 film, Alarm by Anne-Marie will be an automatic favorite. Anne-Marie installed the wonderous directing skills of Malia James who crafted a bright universe, that of an exact mimic to Lurhmann's universe of the star-crossed lovers.

Anne-Marie a 25-year-old English songstress has been in and out of the spotlight since she was a child. Not only because of the vocal capacity Anne-Marie possesses but for previous backing vocals. As well as being featured on other artists tracks, also from a stint on the stage at just the of six years.

Alarm is from Anne-Marie's forthcoming debut album. And nothing seems to be standing in her way. Alarm combats a powerful narrative about cheating on another only to have karma affect every individual involved. Likely in the exact format that happens in the tragic story of Romeo and Juliet. Hints the music video for Alarm.

While the electronic beat is eccentric, powerful and even a bit invasive one cannot but help to escape from the overlaid tempos. While Anne-Marie has selected a topic that is typical, she somehow invigorates a new life towards the subject. Yet Alarm lacks a sense of depth because of the overly used house beat. While the track will be played in the club, it's hard to get pass the serious overtone of Anne-Marie making a slight confession in the verses provided.

Nevertheless, Alarm has shot up the charts and is slowly becoming a favorite around the world. Anne-Marie was born of the spotlight and this time around we may even be in for a surprise since Alarm is the only track to be released so far from this debut album. What else does Anne-Marie have hiding up her musical sleeve?

Still coming to her own
