My Take on A Killer’s Confession’s “Last Chance”

Back with a nationwide press campaign and radio campaign renowned metal music maker Waylon Reavis is making a bid for a second wind in his storied career and his band called A Killer’s Confession. With a new track that reflects the American spirit while fighting the Corona malaise, “Last Chance” takes on a whole new meaning as the band’s latest single going out to radio. A strong hooky song crafted by Waylon with writing partners Sahaj Ticotin and Thomas Church, “Last Chance” is at once both a pop-metal anthem, yet as emotional as a power ballad, as well.

I do not know if the band crafted “Last Chance” as a response to our current situation with the biblical plague now upon us, but it sure as hell sounds like they did. The brutal power chords, moody piano, and plaintive vocals, by way of gargling with industrial disinfectant and dynamite, fit the song to a T and makes home jail feel a little bit more bearable.

After seeing the concert done by artists in their home, the video is still a little depressing. The gut thing about music is that it must be made in the same room for it to take off and hit you between the eyes. “Last Chance” has the energy of a band doing it live, but the video ends up making me feel a little depressed over the limitations being put on musicians all over the world. Still one has to admire the can-do spirit of homebound musicians producing music videos with just their cell phones. This all could be the beginning of a new revolution for the arts.

Other stand out tracks from a prior full-length album called “The Indifference of Good Men” from A Killer’s Confession is “Numb”, and a slamming song called “It’s Not Too Late”. It is the perfect song for you to chase your cat around the house with a laser pointer while we all remain in our in-shelter mode. It has a great chorus with machine gun like drums and crushing guitar. Overall it is a solid effort from this pedigreed band from the Ohio area. If these guys could get out and tour this could be a very good record for their career.
