They pay homage to the master Antonio Lauro

For Sunday, August 6, a musical gala will be celebrated in honor of the maestro Antonio Lauro. The concert will be held at the BOD Cultural Center at 4:00 pm and was organized by the José Ángel Lamas High School of Music, which was one of the houses of studies of the renowned composer and guitarist.

The Antonio Lauro Centennial Gala, in honor of the Venezuelan guitar maestro, born on August 3, 1917 in Ciudad Bolivar, will be attended by musicians of the stature of Leopoldo Izgarza, the greatest live exponent of the guitar in the country, Disciple of Lauro. The master will share the stage with his advanced students of this instrument Melina Urbáez and Daniel Ortega, as well as guitarist José Luis Presa and also singer Gregory Pino, who will perform works of the vocal repertoire of the honoree.

According to the press release sent by the organizers, in the Gala will be interpreted part of the Coral repertoire of the pen of the Master with the choral group called Polyphonic Rafael Suárez. The closing will be in charge of the Typical Orchestra of the Superior School of Music José Ángel Lamas, directed by Luis Armando Rangel.

Lauro, who was recognized as "the Strauss of the Guitar", left an indelible legacy in national academic music.
