Linkin Park and Blink-182 had teamed up for "Blinkin Park" concerts at New York's Citi Field on Friday and two days later at Hershey Park in Pennsylvania.
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Rock band Blink-182 suspended their concerts with band Linkin Park, whose lead singer, Chester Bennington, committed suicide on Saturday.
The bands, two of the most famous rock bands and most selling records, had teamed up to perform "Blinkin Park" concerts at Citi Field in New York on Friday and two days later at Hershey Park in Pennsylvania.
A day after Linkin Park canceled its tour after the suicide of its leader, Blink-182 said that it would not continue on its own and the concerts were also suspended.
"Blink-182 is shattered by the loss of our friend and amazing musician Chester Bennington," he said in a statement. "We never imagined Blinkin Park to play without its incredible talent and voice. It just would not have been possible," he added.
Bennington, 41, has long struggled with drug and alcohol use and said he was traumatized by the sexual abuse he suffered during his childhood. His body was found Thursday at his home in Los Angeles.
Forensics said he had committed suicide by hanging himself.
