British singer-songwriter Paul McCartney today announced a concert on October 28 at the Estadio Azteca in the Mexican capital, after five years without stepping into that country.
The concert is part of the "One On One Tour" tour, which began in the United States in 2016 and has led to appear in twelve countries before more than 1.2 million people, said producer Ocesa in a statement.
McCartney, who has played ten times in Mexico after his first concert in 1993, was presented for the last time five years ago in the Zócalo of the Mexican capital, where he gathered 250,000 spectators.
"Mexico is home to many special memories for me.We have had several brilliant nights there and I can not wait to generate more memories on this tour.We will have a great party together. We are ready to rock in Mexico," promised the interpreter.
The tour includes a new production as well as classic McCartney repertoire never played before.
"One On One Tour" covers the entire career of the British performer - from his first work with The Quarrymen to his most recent collaboration with Kanye West and Rihanna - as well as treasures from The Beatles, Wings and themes from his solo catalog.
The tour of the singer and his band, which is more than ten years old, has new production with an audio and video technology in which giant screens and fireworks are used.
The artist has performed in a large number of venues, ranging from the outskirts of Rome's Coliseum and Red Square in Moscow to the White House and Candlestick Park in San Francisco, where The Beatles performed their last concert in 1966.
