Jay Z be become the first incorporated into the Songwriters Hall of Fame when entering the prestigious organization in June rapper. Songwriters Hall on Wednesday announced that industry leading musicians including Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, Max Martin and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis also be part of the honorees in 2017. The 48th annual ceremony of incorporation of the organization it will be on June 15 in New York. Three members Robert Lamm _ Chicago, James Pankow, and Peter Cetera _ and Motown founder Berry Gordy, who postponed the honor in 2016, they will also be incorporated.
Jay Z is the first rapper nominated for the Songwriters Hall of Fame. The composers are eligible after writing musical hits over at least 20 years. Jay Z, who debuted in 1996 with the album "Reasonable Doubt" has launched multiple hits in the last two decades, from "Big Pimpin" 'to "Empire State of Mind". Babyface has won countless Grammy success as a composer of Whitney Houston, Boyz II Men and other artists, while Martin has become one of the most important composers of contemporary pop music, co-writing No.1 for Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, the Weeknd and other superstars. Nominees Songwriters Hall that will not be added this time include the late George Michael and Madonna, Bryan Adams, Vince Gill, Kool & the Gang and Gloria Estefan. Only five composers, composers or groups are selected each year.
