Metallica, John Legend, Carrie Underwod and Keith Urban perform at the 59th edition of the Grammy Awards, announced today the Recording Academy said in a statement. Metallica members James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich are nominated this time for best rock song "Hardwired" while Underwood aspires to win the award for best country solo performance "Church Bells". In addition, Urban is running for best country album with "Ripcord" and best country solo performance "Blue Is not Your Color". Legend, meanwhile, could opt on stage for "Start a fire," one of the topics covered by the original soundtrack of the musical "La La Land", recent winner of seven Golden Globes.
The ceremony, hosted by British comedian James Corden, will be held on February 12 at the Staples Center, Los Angeles (California), and will be issued in US live on CBS. Two days before the gala tribute will be held to Tom Petty, who will collect the award for Person of the Year during an evening that will feature performances by artists like Foo Fighters, Don Henley, Norah Jones, Kings Of Leon, Randy Newman, Jeff Lynne, Jackson Browne, Elle King, Regina Spektor and The Bangles, among others.
