2017 arrived with the sad news of the passing of Memo Morales. The "good" part, if dying is good- that the event took place while Morales sang, that is, doing what he did best, and with passion.
"It needed two" was the last song, the pasodoble with which bade farewell to the world, and his last words were "That old cow is," according to vocalist assured the family at the funeral.
Memo Morales was, is, an icon of the Spanish song in Latin America. Her singing with a hoarse voice timbre, earned him the placet interpreter par excellence of the pasodoble, but was also well known with boleros.
At the time when sang Billo Frómeta, his voice made contrast with Cheo Garcia and Ely Mendez in the no less famous mosaics, in which the teacher Billo interjecting a bolero, a guaracha or a cumbia, a paso doble or Dominican merengue; and so the assistants / dancers could demonstrate his skills throwing a good foot.
Thanks to Memo Morales recorded in countless record productions, his voice and his essence will remain immortalized forever, as long as a lover of ballroom dancing and Latin music.
