The Radetzky March is a work for symphony orchestra conducted by Johann Strauss Sr. in 1848.
The story goes that the piece was composed in honor of Field Marshal and Count Joseph Wenzel Radetzky, who led Austria to victora against Italy, during which occurred revolution between 1848 and 1949. In such a way that this music has come to be known almost as a second anthem for the Austrians.
Tradition has it that this piece is the central musical concerts in New, unusual year in Europe and the United States. This year, two Venezuelans are called to lead orchestras paths, and include among their respective programs Radetzky March, along with other works of the tradition of the end of the year, as the waltz Blue Danube by Johann Strauss, Jr., among others. These Venezuelans are Vladimir Prado, who will lead the Youth Orchestra of Lower Austria; and Gustavo Dudamel, head of the Vienna Philharmonic.
One of the characteristics of the Radetzky March is the public brand palms the rhythm of music, and of course, the director becomes an accomplice and turns, turns his back to the orchestra and begins to direct to the public, which causes much sympathy among the audience, even more so when televised broadcast of the concert.
