Humor and tenderness of Inocente Carreño

Margarita Island he was born on 28 December 1919. The Day of the Innocents. Hence the name. But innocent ... nothing. His first musical love was classical guitar, and actually clung to it with passion, tenderness. Because he not only devoted itself to studying the classics, but also to share the instrument with the serenade; and thus he became key, friend, companion Antonio Lauro, another great guitar in Venezuela.

The guitar will molded tenderness, and certainly must be a guitarist to feel and breathe the sweet smell of the strings of this instrument in the works of Inocente Carreno: take, for example, the beautiful sonnet by John Beroes, which Carreño I set to music and became the beautiful choral song "Ask the sea" where the voices exhale and breathe with soft delicacy.

If you look at his "Symphony Margariteña gloss" they may feel the salty aroma, soft saltpeter in the morning when the sun barely blunts in the margariteño dawn. In this work, the wind metals (horn and trumpet were his other instruments) singing as does the queen conch, conch that fabulous Caribbean coast tend to give to those who love beaches.

And so, we could fill with tender musical examples. However, so frankly he laughed Inocente Carreno. It was not a funny, nor was the that gave an easy laugh, however much gallantry that would like to display. No. It was intelligent humor, which he laughs at himself, talking about his music as "small works" when actually trying to portents filled with harmonies full of magical sound effects. That was Inocente Carreño, friendly margariteño who has just left us, on 29 June 2016. Peace to his remains.
