Last Sunday, in the framework of the BET Awards, established artists as Stevie Wonder, Jennifer Hudson, Tori Kelly, among others, gathered to pay tribute to the late Prince.
The BET (Black Entertainment Television) Awards reward dedicated to artists of African descent (and other ethnic minorities) served as an excuse for several performances in tribute to Prince. The Roots, Erykah Badu and Bilal were responsible for opening night of tributes. The Roots accompanied Badu as she performed "The Ballad of Dorothy Parker" later, also with the support of The Roots, Bilial sang "The Beautiful Ones", earning applause from the audience.
Meanwhile, Stevie Wonder, Janelle Monae, Jennifer Hudson and Tori Kelly were among the stars of the night to make a heartfelt rendition of "Take me with u", one of the historic Prince. The series of tributes concluded with a presentation of Sheila E, renowned singer and percussionist who was committed to the honoree Prince.
The BET Awards ceremony lasted more than three hours and was hosted by comedian Dave Chapelle. Beyonce was the big winner of the night by accumulating several awards and make a historical presentation of his song "Freedom" with rapper Kendrick Lammar.
