Romeo Santos, known as "King of bachata" was named CEO of Latin Roc Nation, a new division of Roc Nation, the entertainment company rapper and businessman Jay-Z. "This new step in my career facet is a great opportunity to give back what they have learned over the years to new talent," said Santos in a press release issued by their representatives today. The award-winning bachatero and former member of the group Aventura thanked Jay-Z, which he described as "a visionary who knew how to recognize that in our Latin culture has great talent."
As part of the alliance, Santos will be in charge of marketing strategies, brand development, sponsorships and concert tours of Latin artists. "Romeo has had an impressive career as a composer and producer and can identify great talent. This is an important step to Roc Nation," said Jay-Z in the press release. "We recognize that the Latino market is a large part of global culture. We are proud to achieve a true partnership with a person who knows and lives the culture," he added.
Founded in 2008, Roc Nation is an entertainment company, which includes management of artists, songwriters, producers and engineers, and marketing tours, film and television and record label. Renowned artists such as Rihanna, Shakira, J. Cole, Santigold, HAIM, Meek Mill, Big Sean, among others, belong to Roc Nation.
