The American band Maroon 5 and Swedish DJ Avicii star in the final stretch of the festival Rock in Rio Lisbon, which reconverts today to the Portuguese city in the world capital of rock after a break of five days without concerts. After vibrating the Bela Vista Park last week with the music of Bruce Springsteen and the British band Queen, the seventh edition of Rock in Rio Lisbon faces the final stage with three consecutive nights of shows. The US group Hollywood Vampires, which is part of the actor and musician Johnny Depp, is the highlight of this evening on the main stage of the festival, the "World Stage", whose performance will be preceded by the concert of the metal band Californian Korn and his compatriots Rival Sons.
Both will lead to the headliner of the day, Maroon 5 Americans, who delight their fans with songs from his latest album as "Sugar", "Maps" and "Animals". The last day, Sunday 29, in charge of closing the festival will be the Swedish DJ Avicii, which will give one of his last concerts as a few months ago announced plans to retire when his current tour ends. Sunday will also be on stage at the "World Stage" Americans Ariana Grande and Charlie Puth.
In addition to musical performances, in this edition highlight the "pool parties" (pool parties) and "Rock Street" initiative to promote Brazilian culture through its music and activities such as capoeira. The festival mobilizes nearly a thousand professionals to campus security, including police, firefighters, private security and civil protection, as well as two fixed structures and ten mobile medical teams. Since its founding in Brazil 30 years ago, Rock in Rio has brought together over six million people in three countries, Brazil, Portugal and Spain, thus becoming one of the most important music festivals in the world.
