Haven't you noticed that a lot of the world famous bands today, their debut album is their best piece of art? Maybe it is just my opinion, however, I know for sure that this is the case of Maroon 5. Adam Levine with his band since the very beginning smash the top lists all over the world with "Songs about Jane". The album reaches over 10 million copies sold worldwide. The album was released in 2002 by Octone and J Records. The album contains some of their biggest hits (also published as singles) such as "Harder to Breathe", "This Love", "She Will Be Loved", "Sunday Morning".

I will start my review with my favorite song of the album and that is "Secret". The song starts with nice synths and strings until an acoustic guitar with a beautiful rhythmic chord progression comes in. Afterward, the guitar is accompanied by the drums and the piano. Together they create a perfect groove, with a tight rhythm keeping it simple with mainly acoustic instruments. Everything sounds smooth and at the same time very tight and precise. The vocal of Adam is a pure gold, he just nails the song as well as playing the rhythm guitar. The song has a beautiful melody and lyrics that can easily be stuck in your head for days and days!

"Sunday Morning" is exactly the right mood that I get on a Sunday morning, when I wake up and it is raining (even if it is not). The song starts with the drums and again it is building up a wonderful groove with the piano and the guitar! What I love the most for this track is that is building up the whole time and the song finishes with a high level of energy and dynamics. They said that this is the track that got the band signed to Octone Records.

Some of the other songs on the album were featured in a few movies such as Spider-man 2, Love Actually etc.

Overall the album is a wonderful debut album that gave us a nice picture of who Maroon 5 is (personally this is my favorite album by them). "Songs About Jane" is a nice rock album with funk and bluesy elements combine with wonderful lyrics. And I must mention all the band members names such as James Valentine on the lead guitar also doing backing vocals,Jesse Carmichael plays the keyboards, Mickey Madden grooving on the bass guitar and last but not the least (he is actually rocking it) Ryan Dusick the drums.

In fact, the whole album is composed or co-written by Adam Levine, and guess what? He admits that his general inspiration is Jane (his ex-girlfriend) and their relationship. The album is another proof that love is inspiring and move us forward to better days. From now on, spread only love to the World!
