Arturo Marquez is a Mexican composer dedicated to academics, ie, symphonic works, major. Classic. His most prominent music is undoubtedly danzons series has made, and which have become so popular.

The best known, if you will, is the Danzón No. 2, which have become very interesting videos and extraordinary orchestral recordings. One of the flagship videos of this work is the short film by Guillermo Ortiz Pichardo, who made a musicalizado with this Danzon drama, such a masterful way, it seems that both -film and music had been created together. Worth noting, incidentally, that the Marquez himself makes a cameo in the film, acting as the ballroom pianist.

Another wonderful danzons Marquez is No. 4. Here, it noted recording captured on the album "Danzon, Latin American music" Symphony Orchestra Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho, under the direction of Rodolfo Saglimbeni. By the way, on that disk they are losl Danzones No. 2, 3 and 4.

With the fourth, we hear all the Caribbean sensuality in action, taken to a subtle plane beyond the sublime: the listener is abstracted from the symphonic component and enters a story that tells him his own subjectivity. One of the highlights of the fourth danzón is the intervention of the piano, and in this version quoted, is the very Venezuelan composer Aldemaro Romero! who performs the execution of the instrument, as brief as extraordinary, especially for the swing and charisma that brings him.
