National Salsa Day in Puerto Rico will recognize Eddie Palmieri

Eddie Palmieri will be the biggest attraction in the 33rd National Day of Salsa, to be held in San Juan on March 13, when the legendary Puerto Rican pianist receives the "Star" award for his sixty-year career. As explained today the radio station Z93 -organizadora the show that will be held at Hiram Bithorn-, Palmieri, 79, you will also have opportunity to perform with his orchestra stadium. Known as "The Sun of Latin Music" Palmieri Eduardo Morales has won multiple Grammy awards and has also been highlighted in the Latin jazz, which led him to participate last year in the 25th edition of the Heineken Jazz Fest Puerto Rico.

The creator of hits like Come pa'l mount, Hear good for you, and nothing you Bilongo recorded with Lalo Rodríguez The Sun of the Latin Music (1974), an album that became the first Latina to win a Grammy production. The first edition of the National Day of Salsa in Puerto Rico was held in 1983, but it was not until the Law 100 of 17 June 2000 that officially established as an homage to the music genre. Since the first edition have acted in this mythical initiative genre artists like Hector Lavoe, Willie Colon, Celia Cruz, Ruben Blades, Richie Ray and Bobby Cruz, El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, among others.
