Given this Christmas Eve, as good Venezuelans, never missing our carols. While we eat hallaca, chicken salad, ham, bread, ham, black cake, sweet papaya among other typical dishes made in house, in Venezuela, as typical as our Gaita Zulia, that sound that gave us our Zulia.
The Bagpipes are like our misses, Venezuelan cultural trait, something that unites us and Christmas around the world. From small hear songs like "Amparito", "When I go to Maracaibo," "Orinoco". These and other letters as "Mary the dyke" are etched in our collective memory.
The Gaita is like that perfume, that shirt or drink we look for in a special occasion in our country, Christmas is the pefect opportunity to listen, is tradción and family. We remember what we were in childhood, what we are and we know that whatever happens, next year will continue listening, regardless reigion, social class, age or political leanings.
Although we are a kilometers away, music, our music, bagpipes, take us home. Just listen and music will do the rest.
Long live the Gaita Zulia in our hearts!
